Norwegian and German maritime actors have already established a broad cooperation on innovation, research and industry. The German Norwegian Ocean Forum provides the opportunity to further develop our existing cooperation and to exchange knowledge and skills in important areas of common interest.
About the German Norwegian Ocean Forum
The Forum was initiated by Innovation Norway and the Royal Norwegian Embassy with support of German and Norwegian key stakeholders.
The objective is to make Norwegian actors aware of opportunities on the maritime market in Germany and wise versa and to create a network platform for representatives from both marked.
The aim of this network has been and is to establish new business relations and to intensify existing contacts between the German and the Norwegian industry.
GNOF18 - Setting the course for autonomous ships
Autonomously operated vehicles are the focus for 2018th GNOF Forum. Autonomously operated marine technology systems cover a broad range of technologies, processes, services, products. Next to protecting maritime infrastructure (coasts, ports, shipping routes, offshore installations etc.), this technology evolvement will improve resource efficiency and additionally states a strategic importance for the whole economy around maritime transportation. Within these tasks, technology plays a major role. Developments of big data applications and domains like intercommunication or real-time systems will have an enormous impact for the years to come and the potentials are pointed out with several initiatives already.
Today’s examples, such as the “Maritime Safety/Real time services” program, supports companies and their partners from science and research in the development of assistance systems for (semi) autonomous shipping, navigation tools in efficient routing, the monitoring of port traffic and port logistics.
On Site in Germany
Hamburg will host the 1st GNOF on the 04th December 2018.
Norwegian and German maritime professional, solution providers and policy makers will start the cross-border dialogue.
The forum is an open-minded arena for networking, discussions, sharing of latest developments, know-how and competence.
