The UK-based technology developer has applied expertise and know-how from marine, energy, and high value manufacturing industry to realise a solution directly addressing the challenge of off-grid energy access. Funded by UK and EU R&D grants, feasibility studies and industrial research have progressed analysis, scale model testing and prototyping. A ‘building block’ system is now available to licensees. The core technology is a system that controls ballast liquid distribution that can operate in any orientation. Equipment is designed to be transported internationally in ISO 40ft hi-cube intermodal freight shipping containers.
