The 8th ICMASS International Conference on Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships has established itself as a leading international conference in the field of autonomous shipping. This year, the conference will take place in Germany for the first time:
To be precise, in Hamburg – organized by the Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services (CML) and the German Society for Positioning and Navigation (DGON).
During the two-day conference, over 100 presentations will cover all aspects of autonomous ship research and development, including technical and regulatory requirements as well as challenges for ports and terminals. Topics such as the implementation of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) and cybersecurity will also be discussed.
For the first time, the three main topics of the conference — technology, operations, and economics — will complement the ISSS lecture track. The Intelligent and Smart Shipping Symposium is part of ICMASS and has its own focus. It will present the latest advances in digital maritime systems, including improved position resilience and intelligent navigation aids.
Fraunhofer CML is pleased to host the event at its research center in Hamburg-Harburg, where an exhibition of innovative technology providers will also take place. A special highlight is that part of the conference will be held on a ship at the CML pier.
Further information and registration are available on the DGON website and LinkedIn. Around 200 participants from research, industry, and politics are expected, offering numerous networking opportunities.
