The webinar will focus on circular economy approaches to fibre reinforced composites used in diverse industries like aviation, wind energy, boating, automotive or sports equipment. Usecases will present how fibre reinforced composites can be reused, recycled or redesigned in a sustainable way. Participants in addition have the opportunity to arrange virtual meetings through the event platform which can take place until June 30th.

Agenda:

Andrés Luengo Baranguán, AIMPLAS - Chemical Recycling Group, Spain:
Circular economy in composites: from the wind and aeronautical sectors to the ceramic industry and transport:
The main objective of the EROS project is the implementation of a real circular economy system, which starts from the recycling of wind blades and waste from the aeronautical sector to close the cycle in its application in other sectors such as the ceramic industry, including supports, frits, enamels and inks, and in the transport sector itself.

Christian Munk Jensen, Energy Cluster Denmark:
Solutions for recycling the composite material in wind turbine blades:
In DecomBlades, ten project partners investigate and develop solutions to recycle the composite material in wind turbine blades. The project focuses on three specific processes: shredding of wind turbine blades such that the material can be reused in different products and processes; use of shredded blade material in cement production; and, finally, a method to separate the composite material under high temperatures, also known as pyrolysis.

Valentine Troi, Alpine Kreislaufwirtschaft, Austria:
Hemp fiber - substitute for glass and carbon fibers in composites:
The Alpenhanf 360° project forces innovations around the cultivation and utilization of hemp plants, their fibers and ingredients. It is a fully usable supplier of bio raw materials, which can be further processed into various products.

Participation is free of charge. Please register in advance: https://international-partnering-environment-2020.b2match.io/page-3101

The webinar is part of „Virtual International Partnering –Innovation in Environment & Energy & Circular Economy“. With this long-term Partnering Event Enterprise Europe Network invites participants from all over the world to an online exchange of ideas and to targeted virtual networking within the fields waste and recycling, renewable energy, energy efficiency, circular economy and other related topics.

The Enterprise Europe Network (https://een.ec.europa.eu/) is an initiative of European Commission with the aim to support SMEs to innovate and go international. Our services and events are also open to bigger companies and research institutes, with a focus on connecting them to suitable SMEs. All our services offered within EEN are free of charge thanks to the funding received by EU and by the regions. In order to give us some facts and figures to justify the public expenses for our work, we kindly ask you to contribute with your feedback and let us know about cooperations that have been established with our support.
