Universität zu Lübeck, Institut für Technische Informatik
The Institute of Computer Engineering at the University of Lübeck conducts research in the area of autonomous mobile robots, in particular AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicles). A main focus is on swarms of inexpensive, small underwater robots which communicate and cooperate via acoustic modems. Depending on the mission, various sensors (e.g. CTD probes, sonars, cameras) can be integrated. Typical applications are underwater inspection and monitoring e.g. in harbours or on coasts.
Main Objectives
- AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicles)
- Navigation
- Acoustic Underwater Communication
- Sensor Integration
- ROS (Robot Operating System)
Research and Development in the area of AUVs and AUV software (navigation, communication, sensor systems).
